Online Safety

Being online is an integral part of children's lives. Social media, games, websites and apps can all be accessed through a number of devices - all of which form an important part of the children's online world. However, the Internet is always changing, and being able to keep up-to-date with your children’s use of technology can be a challenge. You may sometimes feel that they have better technical skills than you do, however they still need advice and protection when it comes to managing their lives online.

In order to help parents and carers develop their own knowledge, so that you then feel able to support your children, Vodafone (in connection with ParentZone) have produced a series of great magazines called 'Digital Parenting'.  These are a fantastic source of information.  Paper copies will be sent home as they are published, however please find links below to the two latest editions.

Keeping children safe online is everyone's responsibility, both school and home. Through our Computing curriculum, we regularly work with the children to teach them about some of the dangers posed by online activity.  Children are encouraged to talk about any issues they are facing and are given guidance on how to ask for help when needed.

Please click on the attachments below for further information and help guides.

If you or your child has any concerns about your child's online safety, you can report your concern to the school by calling the office (01784 432155) on weekdays between 8.00am and 4.00pm, asking to speak to a DSL.
You can also contact the NSPCC - email: help@nspcc.org.uk or call: 0808 800 5000.
