We help to support the school by fund raising through a range of different activities and helping to build a sense of community.
As a new parent to the school, you are automatically a member of the PTA and you can get involved as much or as little as you like. It is a great way to get to know other parents and have a say in how we fundraise and support our school.
We are a very friendly, welcoming, fun and sociable team and would love to hear from you - whether you’d like to become part of the committee, help out at one of our events, have fundraising ideas or simply want to find out more about what we do.
Lisa Trow (Chair)
I am mum to Emily in Y4 and William in Y1. When I am not being mum or PTA Chair, I work full time at Coca Cola Enterprises where I have worked for the past 8 years. When I have some spare time, I love to go running.
The role of the chairperson is to guide the committee meetings and liaise between the committee, staff and parents about PTA events and fundraising opportunities. The really rewarding part of the job is seeing how to spend the money that we raise.
I have just started my second year in the role and am really excited about carrying on the PTA’s fantastic work, raising money to buy additional resources for our children and supporting the school in any way I can.
It is also really important to me that we have some fun together along the way. So whether you want to volunteer your talents or hard work or whether you’d just like to meet other parents and find out more about what is going on at your child’s school, we would love to see any parents at one of our meetings. If you want to know more about the PTA and what we do, please stop me for a chat when you see me at school or get in touch via email.
Helen McCuaig (Deputy Chair)
I am mum to Millie in Y4 and Max in Y2. I joined the PTA when Millie first started school and have got progressively more involved as the years have gone on! I enjoy supporting the school where I can, and being in a position where I can influence the events we put on and how we spend the money we raise. Most importantly, I love seeing how proud my children are, that I am part of it.
Rachel Griffiths (Secretary)
I have two children at Manorcroft, Daniel in Y5 and Hannah in Y2. I work part time. I got involved with the PTA to help to continue funding some of the things that my children most enjoy in the school calendar, such as theatre.
Simon Leech (Treasurer)
My son Aaron attends the school. The reason I joined the PTA was to help the school and to understand what funding support they required. As Treasurer, my main activities are to pay expenses, count and bank money and track which events are profitable. If your Company offers Fund Matching please ensure that you consider Manorcroft School PTA for donations. Also please ensure that you use The Giving Machine when making online purchases as we receive a percentage of the total.
Gail Pill (Publicity/Comms)
I am a mum of two children aged 8 and 3 years and work as a childminder. I’ve lived in Egham for most of my life and attended the school myself as a child. I wanted to help out on the PTA to try and make sure our children have as positive an experience at the school as I did.
In addition, we will have representation at each meeting from the teachers, who this year will take it in turn to attend.
We also have a fabulous network of Class Reps who will act as the link between your class and the PTA and will help to co-ordinate the fundraising activities. If you would like to know anything relating to upcoming activities or events, your class rep will help you or be able to raise at the next meeting on your behalf.
